SK8 or DIE

I was cleaning my room today and ran across my old skateboard photo albums and got inspired to write this blog today. Those were the good old days from 1988-2002 skateboarding was apart of my life.... and then I had Keanu in 2003 and I turned 25 yrs old and never thought about skateboarding again until 35 minutes ago in my room!I also took out my old skateboard to pass it along to Keanu... you see I met Keanu's dad through skateboarding and now I pass the board to a new generation.... I also got really creative art wise through my years of skating due to my favorite skate heroes doing their own art graphics for their skate decks..... Here we go down memory lane! My old photo albums
my old journal from 1996-1998

I saved my first skate sticker that I put on my first car

Kean's dads guitar.. him and I had fun in those days collecting skate stickers :)

Yuck how did I ever leave the house looking like this?
This was my first skateboard I had bought with my own money H-Street with Madonna on it.... must have been 1991 I was 13 yrs old here... and it was the grunge era Nirvanna was popular :/

I loved Toy Machine

Ed Templeton was my FAVORITE skater .... his art work inspired me the most!

So this is my last skateboard I had bought an Ed Templeton Toy Machine from 2001... I put the grip tape on myself so if it looks like crap you know why..... so I busted it out and gave it to Keanu today :)

Crappy grip tape job... so be it!

Keanu didn't want to pose for the pic... but TRUST me he was happy to receive my skateboard :)

I am Loving Today

Last night I had the best time with one of my dearest friends Olive. We went to Chelsea's Wine Bar and listened to this guy sing and play his guitar... and he was HOT!!! It was really romantic the only thing we needed were boyfriends... but who needs BOYS right!! He will be playing there again April the 14Th :)So today I woke up so excited to start the day and I have SO much to accomplish ....... :) but first paint my fingernails... I am such a girl :) Look he was sooooo amazing he kinda reminded me of Devendra Banhart... he even looked a little like him!
So today I am redoing the bathroom ... I am gonna paint one wall gold then hand paint some peacock feathers all over the wall like wall paper.
The other walls will be a very dark navy and I decided to paint some paintings for the navy wall!

One painting I started will be of a art deco peacock in a vintage gold frame I found a year ago... it's still in the works so don't judge it yet :)

Then I have to prep some more of my canvases today

Here are some of the vintage frames I have collected over the years from garage sells to thrift stores

All day I have been listening to Journey's greatest hits and I can't seem to focus because I keep dancing and singing around the house... But hey I am getting my exercise in for the day... RIGHT!

and now I am listening to my FAVORITE Madonna's greatest hits ... man now I am never gonna get work done!!! I can't stop dancing and thinking I can sing oh well ... my cat keeps looking at me like I am deranged ..haha!!!

Vintage Shopping with Keanu = FUN DAY!

So today Keanu stayed home from school and we went thrift shopping all day... well almost all day.We hit up two great thrift stores and scored some cool stuff. Then we ate at Masa Sushi YUMMY.On our way home we found this cool Smoothie place that looks as if you are at a beach inside VERY NEAT!! So check out our adventure ........ Our first stop was Jackie's Resale in League City off of 518... it was soooo very tiny in here that it only took 2 minutes to shop the entire store :( but we did find 2 items :)
When I first walked in I SCORED with a book by Keith Haring one of my FAVORITE artist of all times..... I was so excited only .99 cents for it!

The store was well maintained and very clean!

They had really awesome men's clothing.... NEXT!

They had a lot of dishes and nicknack's

TONS of shoes :)

Those blue boots were cool but I didn't have enough cash :(

Keanu found a cool FOX book... he is obsessed with Fox's... it was only $1.00

LOVE my new book

Keith Haring was so amazing :)

Our next adventure was the BEST so far .... It was THE THRIFT SHOP off of 45 and 518 in League City

They had great shoes ... I wanted these :)

A lot of cookbooks too :)

They also had 2 rooms full of nicknack's

ROD STEWART.... had to have this album only $1.00

I almost peed on myself when I came across this AWESOME dress :)

Then I almost passed out when I had found an original MISSONI skirt ..... SCORE!!! and it was only $8.00

It is so amazing in person it has to be from the 1970's era

So I bought them both :)

Keanu found this cool puff vest... He is the coolest!!

I had to try it on ...PERFECT!

So this is what I bought ... and I found a cool brooch of a Panda Bear!!!!

I still can't believe it's a real Missoni
